Vice Rector of NUAA, Prof. Nie Hong and Vice Rector of UAI , Dr. Ir. Ahmad H. Lubis, M.Sc., signed an MoU on the 26th of April 2013 officiating formal collaboration between the two universities. This event took place at the CIMB Niaga room of UAI, started with a recitation of a verse from the Holy Qur’an (Surah Al-Hujurat: 13), by Mr.Ahmad Firdaus, a student from the Faculty of Literature, followed by the reading of its translation in Mandarin by Miss. Tita, also a student from the Faculty of Literature, UAI.
After the signing of the MoU, Prof. Nie Hong and his team (Prof. Jin Quanyuan and Prof Rajesh) was given a surprised treat, a song entitled “Nianqing de Pengyoumen”, sung by Miss Rahma, another talented student from the Faculty of Literature, UAI.
Discussion on the potential collaborations followed the signing of the MoU. There are four major areas of collaboration that can be started between UAI and NUAA :

- The opening of sandwich or twinning program with the format of 2 years at UAI and 2 years at NUAA (This is potential for the faculty of Science and the faculty of Economics).
- Research visit / exchange between faculty members of the two universities.
- Scholarship program offers by the government of China (China Science Council) through NUAA for graduate degrees in science.
NUAA is one of China’s leading universities on research and education, and considered as the top engineering universities in China. This reputation has attracted many international students, mainly due to its excellent study environment and courses offered, including computer software design, international economic and trade, etc. The specially of NUAA is in the field of flight vehicle design.
Since 2005, 200 international students have graduated from NUAA with degrees in : Aerospace Engineering, International Bussiness, Mechanical Engineering and Software Enginer.
At present, there are about 500 plus international students from around 40 countries including Indonesia, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Mlaysia, Kenya, Yaman, Nigeria, etc. Who are studying at NUAA, and which also hosting many international students exchange from around the world, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, etc. For further information on UAA, please visit http://www.nuaa.edu.cn.[nggallery id=151]
